FAQs

WHAT LENGTH SHOULD MY HAIR BE FOR WAXING?

If you regularly choose to wax, the wax I use can remove hair as short as 7 millimeters. If it is your first time waxing or in between shaving it is recommended to grow it out a bit more. Do not worry if it has been a significant period of time since you last shaved or waxed.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BIKINI WAX ON MY PERIOD?

Yes! Be prepared as you may experience more sensitivity when waxing on your period. You will need to wear a freshly changed tampon before your waxing appointment. My restroom will be available for you to use to prepare beforehand!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BIKINI WAX WHEN PREGNANT? WHAT SHOULD I BE PREPARED FOR?

It is my job to provide you with the most comfortable and pain-free experience I possibly can. You will notice with regular treatments the pain becomes more tolerable as the hair starts to thin out. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance level. To minimize the pain consider taking Ibruprofen half an hour before your procedure.

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF THE AREA AFTER A PROCEDURE?

For 48 hours after your procedure you will want to keep the area clean and please avoid - Heat/ friction

- Exercise

- Hot baths/showers ( use warm water only)

- Tanning

- Hot tubs, saunas, or steam.

- Swimming in ocean or pools with chlorine

- Scratching or touching the area without washing your hands.

- Applying deodorants, perfumes, powders, or other products to the area. If any after-care products are necessary/recommended I will let you know at the time of our appointment.

If you regularly shave, please wait 2-3 weeks before your appointment date. On the day of your appointment please take a shower, exfoliate and moisturize the skin before coming in.

HOW CAN I LIMIT INGROWN HAIRS?

Waxing regularly between 6-8 week intervals is the best way to avoid ingrown hairs. You can also scrub the skin with a loofah and avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS BEFORE MAKING YOUR APPOINTMENT.

-Waxing is not recommended for individuals with conditions such as diabetes, varicose veins, poor circulation as these populations are more susceptible to infections.

-Waxing is not recommended if you use Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Isotretinoin as these medications weaken the skin barrier. As a result tearing or brown spots may occur at the area of wax.

-Do not wax areas of the skin affected by inflamed/irritated areas of the skin such as pimples, moles, rashes, warts, chapped, or sunburnt.

-Wax should never be applied to the skin in which the barrier has been broken or on varicose veins.

-At different points of a woman’s menstrual cycle, she will experience different levels of pain tolerance. It is advised to schedule a waxing appointment the week after your cycle.

I JUST RECEIVED A FACIAL, CAN I STILL WAX?

If you received a standard signature facial that includes cleansing, steam, exfoliation, and a mask you should be fine for your wax. However, if your facial included but not limited to active ingredients such as Alpha (AHA) or Beta (BHA) hydroxy peel, microdermabrasion, or any other deep exfoliation please wait one week before waxing. Please check in with your physician after having a medical-grade facial before having a waxing treatment.
